IdentiCal™

The IdentiCal System provides Robot Manufacturers with an affordable, easy to use, accurate, and fast robot calibration system, providing calibration options ranging from basic Joint Mastering to full Absolute Accuracy.  The IdentiCal system is designed specifically for the Robot Manufacturer for use at the robot production facility.

In contrast to the need for “full” robot-cell calibration that Robot End-Users generally have (see DynaCal information), Robot Manufacturers typically have more specific requirements for calibration at their facility: (1) they focus only on calibration of robot-related parameters (i.e. no peripheral such as a particular End-effector or Fixture for example), and (2) they require a method for calibration of a large number of robots in the robot production environment, that is as quick and as easy to operate as possible. As far as the robot parameters are required, the basic need of all robot manufacturers is to calibrate the robot’s "axis joint offsets" or "zero positions" as a minimum; but then – as soon as the robot controller allows some kinematic parameters to be directly entered - additional parameters such as twist angles, compliance, etc. need to be calibrated as well.

Therefore, a unique version of the DynaCal Software was designed (while keeping the same Measurement Hardware) to fulfill those unique needs of Robot Manufacturers. That particular Software – called the IdentiCal™ Software – is provided to Robot Manufacturers in replacement of the standard DynaCal Software with the purpose of (1) offering a calibration solution that supports only the functions required at a robot manufacturer's production facility, and (2) above all making that solution as easy-to-operate and as automated as possible.
