Flexible Measurement System
Manufacturing plants in all industries require ongoing inspection of their production parts, to monitor the consistency of its quality. Besides Off-Line Measuring Systems, which measure random part samples from the production line, In-Line Measuring systems offer the possibility to inspect 100% of production and ensure reactivity in production process control.
Typically, In-Line Measuring used to be associated with stationary sensor stations measuring the same model repeatedly and offering limited flexibility. Henceforth, combining flexibility, accuracy and speed is possible thanks to Flexible Measurement Systems (FMS), offering a critical competitive edge and bringing a real added value for all manufacturers, in particular auto makers and suppliers.
Characteristically, the FMS cell’s main components are: a cell controller (PLC), a robot and its controller, a vision sensor and its controller, a fixture or conveyor, and a robot cell calibration system. Robot cell calibration from Dynalog, called DynaFlex, ensures maximum measurement accuracy (Absolute Accuracy) and overall system repeatability (Temperature Compensation) as well as to quickly check the system performance in-between production cycles.
