The following is an excerpt from Renault's Test Report regarding the DynaCal system. It is intended for Renault's system integrators.
DEMONSTRATION OF THE ROBOT CALIBRATION SYSTEM "DYNACALTM FROM DYNALOG" TO THE M2S PARTNERS
CONCLUSION
1. Accuracy
The obtained result confirms that "manual touch-up" of the production programs, generated through simulation,
can be completely eliminated (except for some touch-up due to errors or omissions in the modeling). The accuracy of the downloaded
points is indeed approximately 0.5mm.
This test, conducted on a large-envelope robot (KUKA KR 125), on which a real tool with heavy
payload (approximately 100kg) is mounted, provides confidence in the quality of programs that the RENAULT partners can obtain with
OLP.
Notice too that the same level of accuracy can be achieved with another robot of the same size envelope (ex. ABB IRB 6400 or other...).
2.Time
The time to manually teach the calibration points is less than one (1) hour. This time can be further reduced if these points
were first prepared through simulation. A second measurement (the second calibration on the final site) takes no more than 20min.
The PC software handling for the calculation (identification and compensation) does not exceed 10min.
In order to provide a general
estimate, one can say that the identification of a robot cell, the compensation and the program download – including the verification
of the downloaded points – occurs in about 2 hours.
3. Ease of Use
With the Windows interface and application concept in the
Software (OLP, Cloning, Maintenance...), the DynaCal™ Software proves to be easy to use. For the OLP applications, the ability to
directly recover the new TCP and Car Frame in the appropriate robot controller’s format is very much in line with RENAULT's work approach.
